$62,000 in Cash Awards for Outstanding Texas Science Teachers and Their Schools!

Awards

  • Grand Prize: $20,000 for one teacher + $5,000 resource grant for the school.
  • Distinguished Awards (3): $7,000 each + $3,000 for each school.
  • Rookie Award: $5,000 for one teacher (less than 7 years teaching) + $2,000 for the school.

Who's eligible?

Texas full-time public and private school science teachers with at least two years' completed classroom experience.

Teachers must be returning to a Texas classroom during the 2026–27 school year.

All areas of science are welcome.

NTSP Medical Student Scholarship

Application Period

Scholarship applications accepted June 1, 2026 - September 15, 2026 for first-year medical students.

Scholarship Amount & Eligibility

One $10,000 scholarship is available to qualified first-year medical students in Texas who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Residents of Tarrant, Johnson, and Parker counties.
  • First-year medical students at a Texas medical school (currently enrolled full-time and attending).
  • Provide a valid medical student ID number.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Student exhibits financial need.
  • Available at all Texas medical schools.

Application Instructions

Eligible applicants are encouraged to:

  • Complete the application form.
  • Submit verification of enrollment identifying their expected graduation date.
  • Submit a 250-word essay summarizing what it means to receive this renewable scholarship and how the funds will be utilized.

Renewal Information

Recipients receiving the scholarship as an MS1 can renew between June 1 - July 15 during the next three consecutive years, as long as the recipient remains actively enrolled full-time in a Texas medical school. Over four years, an individual student may receive a combined total of $40,000.

Funding

This scholarship is funded by the TMASFF North Texas Specialty Physicians (NTSP) Endowment for Medical Student Scholarships.

50-Year Club Scholarship

Application Period

Scholarship applications accepted June 1, 2026 - September 15, 2026 for third- and fourth-year Texas medical students.

Scholarship Amount & Eligibility

Three $1,500 scholarships are available to qualified third- and fourth-year Texas medical students who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Be in the third or fourth year of medical school study.
  • US Citizen.
  • Exhibits unmet financial need and outstanding academic progress in medical school.
  • Available at all Texas medical schools.

Application Instructions

Eligible applicants must submit the following:

  • Completed application form.
  • Current medical school transcript.
  • Financial aid award letter.
  • Verification of Enrollment (including expected graduation date).

Awardee Requirements

Awardees must submit a headshot and a letter to TMA acknowledging receipt of this award and state how the scholarship will benefit the student.

Funding

This scholarship is funded by donations to the TMASFF 50-Year Club Scholarship Fund.

1. Register

Click on the "Register" link and complete and submit the registration form.

2. Login

Login to the award with your email and password.

3. Create

Create your online application by clicking at the top right corner of the webpage, where it says "Dashboard" next to your account settings.

4. Save

During the Call for Applications period, your application can be saved as DRAFT until all the required information is completed and attachments uploaded. As each section is complete, you will see a appear in the category tab when the application is saved. At any time, you can download and print your application by clicking on the icon in the Application Summary section.

5. Submit

On completion, save your Application as FINAL. Download and print a copy of your application for your records by clicking on the icon in the Application Summary section in the right column. Note: If an update is required prior to the Call for Applications period, you can make the update and resave as FINAL.
